Techie info:
This site was created on an Apple MacBook Pro. It is intended to look prettiest and function best if you are on a Mac browsing with Safari, though it has also been tested using Internet Explorer, Firefox, Flock, and Opera on Mac OS and Firefox and Internet Explorer on Windows XP. When Eric decided to design this site, he wanted something that would allow for easy updating (seeing as how the old one hadn't changed in two years), so he ventured into the world of dyamic web technologies. After playing around with a few Content Management Systems (CMS), he decided to use Drupal, which is a PHP-based taxonomic CMS. Bascially, Eric knows very little PHP, but can tweak it enough to customize it for his purposes. Personal info:
Ever since he got his first modem in 1996, Eric has been fascinated with the internet. After creating a very ugly first website in 1997, he quickly learned that even in an internet age, technical knowledge is no substitute for good, old-fashioned page layout skills. Thus, he decided to make another attempt at a personal web space -- this time focusing less on technology, and more on the pure beauty of a tastefully-crafted web page. That site lastest from 2002-2004, and remained almost entirely static during that time period. For his next venture into web publishing, Eric knew that a site had to be technically sound, aesthetically pleasing, and dynamically updated, so he decided to unveil XML-based ericchambers.com. Finally, he decided to test his skills with a multi-user site seen here at NotObvio.us.
Eric Chambers is working on his dissertation in Organizational Behavior and Management in the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education (CSHPE) at the University of Michigan, where he also received his M.A. in Higher Education. Eric works as the Director of Student Services and Campus Life at Concordia University, Ann Arbor. While he enjoys much of life in Ann Arbor, the terribly cold winters are motivating him to seek future employment in warmer climates. When not working or studying, Eric likes to strum his guitar or pound on his piano. His love of music can be seen many weekends at the Vineyard Church of Ann Arbor, where Eric plays guitar and keys.
