Winter in Michigan

So right now the weather is a balmy 4 degrees, with a -15 windchill. We got about a foot of snow today, and are expecting some more through about noon tomorrow. This made for a lot of fun as I stood in snow up to my knees trying to get my car cleaned off enough to get to church this evening.

On a positive note, the youth band and I are leading the music for all three services again this weekend. The students sounded really great tonight on our cover of Lifehouse's Everything. We also did a cover of U2's Where the Streets Have No Name that sounded pretty decent. The students continue to amaze me with how quickly they can learn new songs. They really wanted to play Jeff Searles' Only for You, which is probably the single most challenging song for a church band to pull off, and they learned it in only two practices, and spent most of the second working on a smooth transition from it to Where the Streets Have No Name. Yay for really cool students and U2! Boo for really cold weather and snow.
