Memorial Day

Had a great trip to Indianapolis with Mandy this weekend to visit her brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and PJ. We had a fun time seeing Bruce's band Emory Salem put on a good show. We then heard Here Come the Mummies -- definitely one of the most unique bands I've seen in awhile.

On Friday, we toured the city of Indianapolis, which is a surprisingly beautiful, creative town. Lots of public art, clean city-parks, and inspired architecture. I am truly impressed with Indy.

Bruce and PJ were great tour guides, and I really enjoyed getting to know them. I'm looking forward to their visit to MI later this summer.

Came back to Ann Arbor to begin work on my Ph.D. Qualifying Exam. So far, I've been gathering sources, with about 40 printed and another 45 on my list to print tomorrow. Sometime soon I'll write a bit about how I'm using Tiger to manage all my documents and citations, but that can wait for another night. Time to recharge for a hard Memorial Day working.
